In this weeks programme we featured these amazing artists and videos: Artist: The Defectors Track: Alright Girl Ford Anglia's, Vox guitar amps, Farfisa organs, chocolate machines that work, no yellow lines in the road, and fuzz boxes are what The Defectors are all about. We've noticed that it's good to eat a bowl of cornflakes when you are listening to this band only because they are wholesome and simple.
Artist: Kent Track: Music Non Stop Kent is the hottest Swedish export to reach British shores in donkey's years. Kent's first gig was for the Swedish bikini team. Don't eat a bar of chocolate when you are listening to five piece Kent; you're liable to get it all over your face. Stick to Weingums.
Artist: Roots Manuva Track: Witness (1 Hope) Here's a bit of Roots rapping that keeps your foots a-tapping and your Grandmas clapping and your arse a-flapping, that's a Manuva! A taster for his fourth coming album 'Run Come Save Me' sets the pace for hip hop not just in the UK but also worldwide.
Artist: Rachel Stamp Track: Monsters of the New Wave Interview: Weathering four changes in line up and a failed record deal with Warners, Rachel Stamp are still here to kick your ass and play their own brand of music.
Artist: Blit Track: How Deep Is Your Love It all began with a song on the internet. Blit performed Gloria Gaynor's 'I Will Survive' ending with the crash of the disco light after the first refrain. It is difficult to measure depth when you only have one eye. And anyone out there with one eye knows what I mean.
Artist: Rhythm Masters Track: Heavy Soul Robert Bruce Chetcuti and Steve McGuiness of Rhythm Masters met by chance in Malta nine years ago when searching for the duckbilled platypus. At the end of 98' and 99', they found themselves credited amongst the top ten remix teams (Music Week) a testimony to their ability.
Artist: Elvis and the Burger Kings Track: Truck Drivin Man Welcome to the Australian dating service. Please leave your standards at the door. We just couldn't resist playing this video. Sorry. 'Truck Drivin Man' is the only recorded release from this cabaret/punk/rock-n-roll tribute band in the world and it just happened to land on our desk.
