In this weeks programme we featured these amazing artists and videos: Artist: Us 3 Track: You Can't Hold Me Down US 3 had a top ten single a few years back with "Cantaloop (Flip Fantasia)" which was based on an unhealthy love of melon. Geoff Wilkinson of US 3 received his college degree in Geography. Not only can he play a great tune, but he can also tell you what direction he's playing in.
Artist: Herbert Track: Suddenly At the age of four, Matthew took up the violin and piano, at seven he sang in the choir, and at twelve he was partying with Billy Idol. Get ready for your Zen thought of the day. Herbert's favourite quote is "Fail again, fail better."
Artist: Angela Gheorghiu Track: Casta Diva Angela starred in the title role of the film version of Tosca to be premiered at the Venice Film Festival. But what she really wants to do is direct. Angela is considered to be one of the finest sopranos of her generation. She can also do cartwheels with Nadia Comaneci.
Artist: The Cooper Temple Clause Track: Let's Kill Music The Cooper Temple Clause lured two of its members away from existing bands and "misplaced" two drummers. The band was known at one point by the name Marigold, because Marigolds are prettier than Daffodils.
Artist: The Cult Track: Rise Interview: The enigmatic Ian Astbury speaks...or does he? "I'm thirty-nine years old. I've got a couple of teeth missing. And I just want to connect with people." Says Vocalist Ian Astbury. Influenced by anarchist punks Crass, The Cult was formed in 1983 by Billy Duffy and Ian Astbury.
Artist: Lamb Track: Gabriel Vocalist Louise Rhodes used to be a photographer for the UK music press and if you're extra good she'll show you her old press pass. Andy Barlow, Lamb's second half, lived and worked in Philadelphia making cream cheese "decorative art" before he moved to Manchester.
Artist: Number Girl Track: Teppu Surudoku Natte Formed in 1995, Number Girl is best described by one of the tracks off its second album Seppukei-Brutal. Rumour has it that if you don't wear ear plugs at a Number Girl show, it's likely your ears could go on a sound strike.
